Inez Hedges


Inez Hedges is an author and playwright.  She is Professor Emerita of Cultures, Societies, and Global Studies at Northeastern University where she founded the Cinema Studies program.  Plays include

“ Children of Drancy,” a dramatization of the French Shoah; “ The Eagle and the Cactus,” about the resistance activities of the French surrealist photographer Claude Cahun during WWII, and “ Kafka in Palestine.”  Books include “World Cinema and Cultural Memory,”    “ Framing Faust: 20th Century Cultural Struggles,”  “ Breaking the Frame: Film Language and the Experience of Limits,” and “ Dada and Surrealist Literature and Film.”
